    Job Overview:

    We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Glazing Estimator Quantity Surveyor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for estimating costs, managing budgets, and ensuring that all glazing projects meet the required specifications. The role requires a combination of technical knowledge in glazing systems, strong mathematical and analytical abilities, and excellent communication skills to interact with clients, contractors, and suppliers.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Estimating: Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for glazing projects, including windows, doors, curtain walls, and facades.

    • Quantity Surveying: Measure and quantify glazing materials, labour, and other project-related costs. Ensure accurate and efficient take-offs from drawings and specifications.

    • Tender Preparation: Assist in the preparation of tender submissions, including pricing, proposals, and reviewing contract documents.

    • Cost Control: Monitor project budgets, track expenditures, and identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining the quality and specifications of the glazing works.

    • Contract Management: Review and manage contracts, agreements, and other relevant documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements and legal standards.

    • Value Engineering: Provide recommendations for value engineering and alternative solutions that help reduce costs without compromising quality.

    • Site Visits: Conduct site surveys, inspect the progress of ongoing projects, and gather information to support accurate estimations and progress claims.

    • Client Interaction: Liaise with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to resolve issues, manage expectations, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

    • Reporting: Prepare detailed reports for senior management, highlighting project status, cost discrepancies, and any other important issues that may arise.

    Skills and Qualifications:

    • NZIQS qualified or similar.

    • Proven experience in glazing estimating and quantity surveying within the construction industry.

    • Strong knowledge of glazing systems, materials, and industry standards.

    • Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, or similar).

    • Excellent numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

    • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers.

    • Good understanding of construction contracts and legal requirements.

    • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.

    • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving potential issues.

  • Reports to: Glazing Manager / Design Manager

    Job Overview:

    We are seeking a skilled Glazing CAD Technician to join our design team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed and accurate CAD drawings for glazing projects, including curtain walls, windows, doors, and other architectural glazing systems. This role requires both technical proficiency and a strong understanding of construction and glazing systems.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • CAD Drawings: Create detailed CAD drawings of glazing systems and shop drawings.

    • Collaboration: Work closely with the design and engineering teams to ensure that all drawings align with project specifications, building codes, and client requirements.

    • Project Support: Provide technical support to project managers, engineers, and other team members throughout the project lifecycle.

    • Material Take-offs: Prepare accurate material schedules and quantities from the CAD drawings.

    • Quality Assurance: Review and verify the accuracy of design documents to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

    • Client Liaison: Communicate with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to clarify design details and resolve any issues during the design or construction phase.

    • Documentation: Maintain organized records of all design files and revisions for reference and future projects.

    • Innovation: Stay updated with the latest software and glazing technologies, contributing ideas for continuous improvement in design practices.

    Required Skills and Qualifications:

    • Experience: Proven experience as a Glazing CAD Technician, Drafting, or similar role in the glazing, construction, or architectural sector.

    • Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, or other industry-standard software), along with a strong understanding of glazing systems and construction materials.

    • Attention to Detail: Strong ability to review and produce precise and high-quality technical drawings.

    • Communication Skills: Effective communication with team members, clients, and contractors.

    • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and address issues in designs and suggest practical solutions.

    • Educational Background: A relevant qualification in architecture, engineering, or construction is desirable.

    • Knowledge of Building Codes: Understanding of relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to glazing systems is beneficial.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Experience with 3D modelling or BIM (Building Information Modelling).

    • Familiarity with glass, glazing materials, and related hardware systems.

    Working Conditions:

    • Office-based role with occasional site visits.
